Godstone Parish Council - The impact of Covid19

Operation Spearhead
Burglary has been a focus for Surrey Police this year with Operation Spearhead launching to tackle burglaries across the county, despite the Covid 19 lockdown. East Surrey have a team of investigators dedicated to reviewing burglaries in the area and Intelligence led tasks have been raised that have seen focussed patrols in Tandridge across all days of the week and hours of the day from our Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Roads Policing Teams, and Firearms Teams and Dog units.  Our local Safer Neighbourhood Teams are undertaking reassurance and prevention patrols and every crime that has positive lines of enquiry leading us towards a suspect has been followed up without delay.
In terms of statistics, in April, we have made 10 arrests for burglary offences in East Surrey. As well as this burglary is down 44% and positive outcomes have increased 5.4% in the county.  For residential burglary prevention advice, click here: https://www.surrey.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/residential-burglary/
Bonfires, Community Recycling Centres and Waste Collection during Covid 19 - Information is available here from Tandridge District Council on waste services.  The bulky waste collection scheduled for Saturday 25 April 2020, when a rubbish truck is parked in Club Road and then opposite Evelyn Gardens for residents to dispose of unwanted rubbish has been cancelled due to the current circumstances.
Childrens Playground during COVID 19 - In line with government advice, the Parish council request that families do not use the children's playground in an effort to minimize public gatherings and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The WHO has stated that “...the novel coronavirus may remain on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days, depending on several conditions, including type of surface, temperature or humidity of the environment.” Play structures are high touch surfaces and cannot be cleaned after each use.
This request is not made lightly and we cannot enforce a closure, but by not using the playground you will be helping to protect our community. Thank you for your understanding during these unique circumstances.
Allotments - The National Allotment Society has issued useful guidance on visiting allotments in accordance with government regulations, https://www.nsalg.org.uk/news/covid19-information/.  Please follow guidelines issued by Tandridge District Council in relation to bonfires. guidelines available using this link, during Covid 19 and refrain from having bonfires at the allotments.
